character study (Rachael of Blade Runner)
She may seem cold-hearted, but that’s just the way she was wired. Sure, she knows how to light a cigarette, and her nails perfectly match the hue and gloss of her lips, but she’s still trying to find her place in the world, no different than you or I. There is something childlike about her, an inexperience maybe, and deep down you want to save her, even if that means going against everything you believe in. Is she even human? Are you even human? All she wants are the same answers the rest of us want – where did I come from, where am I going, how long have I got.
